Bill Richardson Creates Jobs For Friends And Allies
by Matt Margolis :: March 9, 2006 3:25 PM
According to this report from KRQE News 13 in Albuquerque, NM, Governor Bill Richardson has created over 60 jobs for his friends. And many of these jobs have big salaries... Jobs went to people who didn't ask for them, and to people with no experience
Such practices are against the law.

Another Pelosi Crony
by Matt Margolis :: September 27, 2005 3:54 PM
Today, Nancy Pelosi and Rep. Henry Waxman introduced the Anti-Cronyism and Public Safety Act, which, in their words, "would prohibit the President from appointing unqualified individuals to critical public safety positions in the government."
As one of the loudest critics in Congress of the federal government's response to Hurricane Katrina, Nancy claimed that the Katrina response was "plagued by cronyism."
I can't understand how Nancy can talk tough on cronyism considering her record. Perhaps Nancy could answer some questions on why she's pushing out Jane Harman as the lead Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, and putting in Alcee Hastings, especially since Hastings is one of only six in American history to be impeached as a federal judge.
It seems that cronyism and corruption take precedent in the Democratic Party is rampant, even when it comes to something as serious as our nation's intelligence capability.

Pelosi Reserves Coveted Committee Assignment To Yet-To-Be-Elected Matsui
by Matt Margolis :: February 9, 2005 3:12 PM
Aaron at Pardon My English noted the other day that Nancy Pelosi had given her daughter's boss, Mass Rep. John Tierney, a coveted slot at the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence... nows she's reserving a spot on the "exclusive" Rules Committee for someone who hasn't even been elected yet, Rep. Bob Matsui's widow, Doris Matsui.
The Hill reports that the "position is highly coveted by lawmakers who seek the floor time given Rules Committee members," yet Pelosi has had difficulty filling that slot. According to the article, however, Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee of Texas is allegedly interested in the position also.
But hey, the yet-to-be-elected freshmen Rep. Doris Matsui must have earned it somehow... Does Pelosi have any other kids who might be working for her?

How Did Tierney Get That On That Committee?
by Matt Margolis :: February 8, 2005 3:13 PM
Pardon My English notes that Nancy Pelosi has appointed Mass Rep. John Tierney to the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI), which is a "highly sought after committee assignment," that gives its members "full intelligence clearances," and it's just a "coincidence" that John Tierney's chief of staff is Christine Pelosi, Nancy's daughter.
