She clarified that the sanctions against the military regime of Myanmar will be lifted, but Washington will rely on direct contacts with the junta.

“We believe that sanctions remain an important part of our policy, but by themselves they do not bring the results we had hoped for the people of Burma”, – said Clinton, whose words lead Associated Press.

The decision to establish direct contacts with the Myanmar authorities agreed on the review of U.S. policy toward that country, who ordered a Barack Obama since joining the White House. Previous administration largely relied on the method of the sanctions.
